Nigeria: Oil Vessels That Delay At Ports Must Pay Demurrage - Lukman

Abuja — Minister of Petroleum Resources, Rilwan Lukman, has directed that all assigned vessels that delay at discharge ports after approved number of days should be made to pay demurrage charges at the rates provided in the charter party of the importing mother vessel.

The measure, which took effect from October 1, is aimed at reducing congestion in Nigerian ports.
