Nigeria: Dass Gets New Emir

Bauchi — Following the death of the Emir of Dass in Bauchi State, Alhaji Bilyaminu Othman, the Dass Emirate King-makers have announced the Emir's first son, Usman Bilyaminu Othman as the new Emir.

The announcements which was made by the kingmakers in Dass yesterday explained that the decision followed the Dass Emirate Council laid down rules and regulations for the selection of a new Emir after the demise of another Emir after due consultations with all the relevant authorities including the state government and the state Council of Emirs.

The new Emir, Usman Bilyaminu Othman , was born in 1971 and had his primary education at Dass Central Primary School from where he proceeded to Government Science Secondary School, Toro for his secondary education after which he went to the Bauchi State College of Art and Science (BACAS) for his A level.

Usman Bilyaminu Othman then got admitted into the Bauchi State College of Agric for his OND in Agricultural Science from there he proceeded to ABU, Zaria for a Higher Diploma.
