Lesotho Test for Country

Kigali — BEFORE today's encounter with Lesotho, the national cricket team will have one thing on their minds; to win and win well.

After a dream start on Saturday-seven wicket victory over Gambia, the team suffered a huge blow in their ICC World Cricket League Division 3 campaign when they lost by 47 runs against tournament hosts Malawi.

For Dennis Mukama, the team skipper, it was a tough result to take in. "We struggled with the batting but we are working on it and hope our top batsmen start firing," he told Times Sport on phone."We need to win convincingly to keep our title hopes alive."

In the other day's game, tournament favourites Sierra Leone play Malawi, a game which will have a huge bearing on Rwanda's chances.

"We are hoping Sierra Leone beat Malawi to keep us in the race," Mukama continued.

A win for Sierra Leone leaves the title race open while Malawi's victory will leave Rwanda's chances hanging on a thread.

Five teams are in contention after Morocco's last minute exit.
