Nigeria: Kano May Use Pfizer Compensation to Build Hospital

Kano — Kano state government may use part of 75million Pfizer compensation funds to build a hospital in the state.

Chairman of Pfizer, Kano health care Programme Board Trustees, Prof. Shehu Galadanchi said this at news in Kano last weekend.

He said, the two committees of Pfizer Health Care Programme Board of trustees and the state government funds disbursement trustees will use its percent of the compensation money to build health care facility that would include disease, control centre, public laboratory micro reference, diagnostic centre etc.

He said the state government will also constructed office accommodations for the members of the committees as part of the agreement that they should not use government facilities to conduct of their activities. He said that members will ensure justice and fair play in constructions of the health care facilities as well as the disbursements of the fund to the victims.

The chairman said that, they will soon appoint consultants and other professional bodies that will monitor the activities of the committees to ensure that due process is followed has assuming that they are going to do a diligent job that will be acceptable to both parties based on the trust put on their heads.

Galadanchi, said, 30 million dollars has been set for the constructions of the befitting health care facilities.

It could be recalled that the fund disbursement board of trustees has said that victims would only collect their money after been thoroughly screened, which may likely

However the committees have assured that they will do a job that will allow only the victims to benefit directly from the funds and that all the members of the committees who include Professor Auwalu Yadudu, Aliyu Kiyawa and five other people of proven integrity.
