Lesotho: Country Rout Lesotho

Kigali — YESTERDAY was a historic day in Rwandan cricket. For the first time, Rwanda scored in excess of 300 as they set Lesotho a challenging target of 301 in their fourth game of the 2009 ICC World Cricket League Division 3 tournament in Malawi.

Subashish Samaly was the architect of the win as he raked up 110, his highest score in One Day International cricket.

Eric Dusingizimana added an-87 ball knock to guide the East Africans to 301.

In the second innings, Rwanda did not waste time has they bundled out Lesotho for a paltry 84runs.

Rwanda's fast bowlers Eric Dusabemungu and Andre Kayitera were the peak of the bowling as they picked nine wickets between themselves.

It was a top notch display from the cricketers but their joy was short-lived as Sierra Leone lost to hosts Malawi to gift the latter the title.

The win meant that Malawi would finish the tournament unbeaten since their final game is against Morocco who withdrew from the tournament at the last minute.

Sierra Leone and Rwanda will now contest for second spot this morning as Lesotho and Gambia also face off in the other day's game.

Day 4

Rwanda 301/8

Lesotho 84/10

Rwanda won by 217 runs
