Nairobi — A man who had been sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling a four-year-old girl has been handed a lifeline after the Court of Appeal ordered a retrial.
John Njenga Kamau had been convicted of the offence in Molo last year but appealed against both the sentence and the conviction.
His first appeal at the High Court in Nakuru was dismissed on November 28, 2008, but the Court of Appeal allowed it this week.
