Lubango — A total of 64 DR Congo nationals residing illegally in southern Huila province were arrested and sent to Luanda by the Migration and Foreign Services (SME) for repatriation, during the last nine months, a local SME chief told Angop today.
According to Antonio Samuel Booka, the expatriates were staying in the province without documents or with expired visas, adding that two brazilian and six portuguese nationals were also asked to abandon the province for having expired work permits.
The number of DRCongo nationals expelled from the province has increased drastically compared to the 19 forced to leave the territory from january to september 2008.
Samuel Booka stated that the local SME reported 1,888 departures and 1,786 arivals of national and expatriate passangers at the Lubango airport.
SME in Huila province has the records of 1,544 expatriates, 609 of them residents, 925 with work permits and 110 on temporary visas, as well as 202 foreign companies and non-governamental organizations.
