Johannesburg — HARDLY a week after MTN and Bharti Airtel walked away from a 23bn merger deal, another major operator, Zain is now considering selling its stake to Asian investors, having also abandoned earlier plans to dispose of its African operation .
Zain, which competes with MTN in Nigeria and Ghana, has been eyeing the South African market dominated by Vodacom . However, with likely changes to its ownership, any foray into SA could be put on hold, analysts said yesterday.
