Nairobi/Lagos — Political events accompanying the October 1 Independence Day celebrations may have gone down considerably, but the social side of the fiesta still remains ample as the weekend promises to be a busy one.
Far away Arap Moi Centre in Jomo Kenyatta's Nairobi, Kenya, will tomorrow (Saturday October 10) come alive as animated youths and perhaps, the old but still young at heart, converge on the centre for the MTV Africa Music Video Awards. The awards, code named "MAMAs Awards" will be taking place for the first time in the hitherto politically embattled East African nation whose blood runs in the veins of Barack Obama, the first black president of the United States of America.
