Nigeria: Aliero Council Releases N5 Million to Fight Polio

Abuja — The Aliero Local Government in Kebbi has released N5 million for the improvement of health care services in the area.

The Chairman of the council, Alhaji Salihu Nabara, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Aliero on Monday that the money was mainly meant to boost immunisation against polio.

He called on parents to make their children and wards available for vaccination.

"We would spend public resources prudently especially on matters that were beneficial to the people and we would remain committed to the success of the immunisation rogramme," he said.

He said that efforts were being intensified to enlighten people on the benefits of immunization.

Nabara then called on councillors, traditional and religious leaders to ensure success of the exercise.(NAN)
