Uganda: River Encroachers Given Deadline

Authorities in Kayunga District have given a two- month ultimatum to residents who have been illegally cultivating on the banks of River Musamya to vacate the area or face prosecution.

The time frame was given to the over 500 encroachers by the acting District Chairman Mr Boniface Bandikubi, and the District Environment Officer, Mr Patrick Musaazi, during a meeting held in Kisoga village, Nazigo Sub-county on Monday.
