Senegal: IMF Denies Arrest of Dakar Official

Nairobi — The IMF has denied reports of arrest of its former official in Senegal over a bribery scandal.

Mr Alistair Thomson, the IMF external relations officer, described the report carried by several Africa media outfits as a mere "fabrication" that was based on "a false radio interview broadcast by a Senegalese radio station, which purported to be an interview with me".
