Angola: Government Allows Meat From Brazil, Argentina

Luanda — The Ministry of Agriculture lifted up this week the ban on importation of meat of bovine, pig, buffalo and antelopes from Brazil and Argentina, a decision made under the previous decree published on 18 December 2006.

The removal of the prohibition comes after it had observed that the control measures against foot and mouth disease fever in these countries are strictly followed up, reads the decree from the Agriculture Ministry signed by the minister Afonso Pedro Canga that reached Angop on Wednesday.

Fulfilment of these measures to control animal fever is in accordance with health code of ground animals from the World Animal Health Organisation and in conformity with regular information given by sanitary services of these countries.
