Togo: Faure urges not to delay elections

Togo's President Faure Gnassingbe stressed Thursday during a Cabinet's meeting the need for the Independent Electoral Commission and the government to do everything so that the next presidential election "be not delayed".

He wished that the poll to come in Togo be held under "perfect conditions of transparency and equity".

The Head of the State also urged Prime Minister Gilbert Houngbo, to set up a support committee to help the Independent National Electoral Commission to prepare the poll.
