THE board of directors at the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) has terminated contracts for director general, Joseph Salasini and three other directors.
Board chairperson Augustine Seyuba said in a statement in Lusaka yesterday that the move, which included the non-renewal of the contract of another director, was in line with the re-organisation of the management as announced by Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, Ronnie Shikapwasha last week.
Those whose contracts have been terminated are director of programmes Maxwell Ng'andu, director of finance, Millen Siyamiyoba, director of Sales and marketing, Anthony Mhlanga.
Mr Seyuba said the board would not renew the contract for the director of human resources Sepiso Kwaleyela, which ends next month.
"It has become clear that the industrial environment at the corporation over the past few months had deteriorated significantly and was no longer conducive for the advancement of the objectives of the national broadcaster," he said.
He said the board had to make the decisions to serve the best interest of ZNBC and to save the situation from degenerating.
