Somalia: Three People Killed in Beledweyn Town

At least three people including two businessmen who were also brothers have been killed by unidentified gunmen overnight in Beledweyn town in central Somalia, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Monday.

Reports from the town say that two of the three men who were shot and killed in the town were brothers and businessmen and were murdered in Koshin neighborhood in Beledweyn town in Hiran region.

Locals said that the armed gunmen were traveling on a luxury vehicle and first killed the two brothers then the other civilian as he heard the sound of bullets and trying to rush at the areas of the bullets where he was not so far away.

Residents confirmed Shabelle radio that the group who murdered the men were about 20 strongly armed men and escaped shortly after when they killed the three men in Beledweyn town.

It is unclear the reason of the killing so far and all the people in town have expressed shock and sorrowful about the murdering accident happened in the town overnight.

The murdered brothers were called Ali Ahmed Nor and Omar Ahmed Nor and there is no comment about the killing action from the Islamic organization officials of Hizbul Islam who are currently controlling the town.

The overnight killing against the businessmen and brothers who were killed deliberately in Beledweyn town comes as the general situation of Beledweyn town was calm recently.
