21 October 2009

Abuja — The Postal Master General of the Nigeria postal service Ibrahim Mori Baba has said NIPOST will soon commence on-line postal, financial and communication service in the country.

Ibrahim disclosed yesterday while at the 2008 merit award to 16 staffers of the agency. He said NIPOST has the responsibility to provide efficient, effective and affordable postal network to all the nooks and crannies of the country.

He said globalisation and Information communication Technology (ICT) are now the ultimate in the process of interaction between people, saying the obligation to serve Nigerians irrespective of where they live is their priority.

"NIPOST management is working hard to ensure the success of the on-going postal reform process. We have commenced the remodeling and automation of our post office", Ibrahim said.

He said the award was to encourage hard work and enhance corporate excellence in line with the management's desire to promote staff welfare through motivational programmes and appropriate reward system.

"This effort has generated keen interest, positive attitude and dedication to work among staff. The programme will soon be expanded to cover some other areas of work ethics to celebrate creativity", he said.
