Tunis — The Morrocan city Tangiers hosted from October 12th till 17th the 7th edition of the Mediterranean Short Film Festival.

Tunisian, Palestinian, Moroccan, Jordanian, Lebanese, Egyptian, French, Italian, Turkish, Albanian, Greek and Portuguese films were among the films nominated.

Two Tunisian films entered the competition, one is "The Crossing" by Nadia Touijer and "A Season, between heaven and hell" by Mourad Ben Cheikh.

The documentary film "al-Malja"(Refuge) by Nadia Touijer is her second feature film.

This short film tells the story a child of eight years who lives in a popular city on the heights of Tunis. He came to the city hoping to win a bicycle in a game.

His hope was more complicated than expected.

In his film "A Season, between hell and paradise", the character Ala is a professor of Arabic literature. His hobby is reading the works of classic Arab poets, particularly, El Maari in his masterwork"The Epistle of Forgiveness."

The spirit of this teacher made the film turn into delirium and imagination, which is the essence of literature, notably, when the character swings between heaven and hell, in attempt to know more about himself.

Tangiers Film festival has become , since its creation in 2002, a cultural gathering and an opportunity to allow young talents share their films and enrich their cinematographic experiences.
