Tunisia: Nation Elected Member of International Astronautical Federation

Tunis — The Tunisian National Cartography and Tele-detection Centre (INCT), was elected member of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) during the closing ceremony of the general assembly of the 60th International Astronautical Congress (IAC), which took place on October 12 to16 in Daejeon, South Korea.

Three thousand space experts representing 70 countries with attendance of astronauts, space scientists and 14 space agencies managers from different countries, including INCT director-general Mr. Mohamed El Bachir Kchouk, took part in the 5-day events

Tunisia ranked 52nd and was elected among 10 other candidates out of 23 candidates.

IAC aims to address the growing need for international cooperation in the areas of space activities and knowledge.

Like the whole world, Tunisia observes each year on October 4 to 10"World Space Week" celebrating the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition" as declared by the United Nations General Assembly.
