Tunis — On October 16th, an information day took place in the German city of Cologne, on Tunisia's industrial strategy by the year 2016.
This event was held on the sidelines of the International Exhibition for Food Industries Anuga 2009, which was organized between October 10th and 14th.
Around 6500 exhibitors from 97 countries took part in this forum, which attracted 160 thousand visitors from 170 countries.
In collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Cologne, the German Cooperation Agency, The technical Center for packaging, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, the Center for the Promotion of Exports, the Tunisian Union of Industry and Commerce and traditional industries, the aim of this event is to promote the industrial strategy adopted by Tunisia by the year 2016, as well as highlighting the possibilities offered by Tunisia in the promising sectors as industries food.
This event comprised about 80 people representing business circles, German, Italian and representatives from the food industry and heads of the Maghrebi's institutions.
Mr. Abdul Aziz Alrsaa, Secretary of State in charge of renewable energy and food industries pointed out that the current economic situation, which is witnessing an economic boom represents a new opportunity for further development of industrial partnership with the countries of the European Union, particularly those of Germany and Tunisia , in order to take advantage of the opportunities available.
He also talked about the most prominent Tunisian policy in the energy sector, which controls the various possibilities of cooperation, particularly, the implementation of Tunisia's planned solar system.
He also reviewed other businesses activities like canning olive oil, highlighting the possibilities in Tunisia to develop a partnership in this field.
