Botswana: Franco Dances His Way Into Movie Career

Rhumba king Franco is trying his hand at movies. He has been featured in a new local movie, which also stars television star Joel Keitumele, music promoter, Zenzele Hirschfield, and Masego of O Bone O Ja Sereto Fame.

Zenzele has been playing bit part roles in a comedy, Ntsoro, and the latest episode of the drama, O Bone O Ja Sereto .

Vee Sento is another local music star who recently tried his hand at movies when he released his own comedy, featuring popular local comedian, Radijo.

In the latest production dubbed, Kgang Tsa Boswa (Inheritance Issues), Franco stars as a husband who supported his wife to commit abortion. Franco stars as Jonas, which happens to be his late father's name. Keitumele, in this movie is a driver/messenger working for the Jonases.

The movie was shot over two weeks, at locations in Block 8, Phase IV, Mogoditshane, Kgale and the University of Botswana (UB).

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) activist, Mazabathi, who also stars in O Bone O Ja Sereto series, as the greedy dad, is also featured in the latest drama, according to our sources. He plays the role of policeman this time, while Masego plays the orphan. The movie will be out next month.
