Tunis — The citizens of Sousse Governorate expressed gratitude and consideration to President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali for the decisions he had ordered, when chairing on Wednesday the extraordinary session of the Sousse Regional Council, which are likely to breathe a new boost into the region's development process.
During an imposing march staged on Thursday and in which took part components of civil society among national organisations, political parties, associations and youth structures, the participants expressed gratitude to the Head of State for his avant-garde decisions, waving the national banner, the President of the Republic's portraits and banderoles as a token of recognition to him for the care he is constantly lavishing on the region which has become, thanks to the large-scale projects and achievements accomplished in it, a shining development pole.
Citizens reasserted attachment to President Ben Ali and adherence to his judicious choices, commending the ambitious objectives included in the Head of State's new electoral platform which are likely to help Tunisia join the advanced countries' ranks.
An extraordinary session of the Regional Council was held in the premises of the Governorate of Sousse, under the Governor's chairmanship, during which the Council members voiced satisfaction at the President of the Republic's decisions for the benefit of the region, emphasising the importance of the announced large-scale projects, which meet the local inhabitants' aspirations, and expressing determination to contribute to the execution of these projects in due time.
They also reiterated, on the occasion, total support to President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali to keep on leading the country on the path of excellence, and reasserted commitment to contribute to the success of October 25, 2009 presidential and legislative elections.
