Harare — AFTER failing to share the stage at the Tourism Night show last weekend, sungura maestro Alick Macheso and Democratic Republic of Congo rhumba musician Djouna The Big One come face to face at Andy Miller Hall tonight.
Dendera musician Allan Chimbetu -- who is currently riding high with his latest album Simukai -- would support the duo.
Despite playing different genres Macheso and the DRC musician's combination is expected to bring the roof down.
Revellers look forward to a good show when the trio takes its act to Pakare Paye in Norton tomorrow.
Djouna's trip to Zimbabwe is part of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority's tourism marketing drive. Ever since his arrival in Zimbabwe, ZTA has been taking the visiting musician around some places of interest and resort areas as part marketing the areas to foreigners.
It seems the DRC musician is fast becoming popular with Zimbabwean fans following a public demand that he shares the stage with Macheso.
While much of Djouna's strength lies on his lyrics and energetic dancers Macheso on the other hand is a fiery bassist whose fame for the guitar is well known far and wide.
Also to look forward to from Orchestra Mberikwazvo is the inimitable dancer Franco "Slomo" Dhaka who has served the outfit with so much loyalty for years that he has become a permanent feature of Macheso's dance partners.
Chimbetu is expected to take revellers down memory lane with golden oldies of his late elder brother and mentor, Simon.
He is often regarded as the only one with a voice that is close to Simon's.
The musician has also been holding his own with his hits such as Sonny and Jefferson, among others.
Djouna is expected to depart for the DRC on Monday.
