LANDS Deputy Minister Michael Mabenga yesterday told Parliament that Legacy Holdings has allegedly not used the Baobab land on Kafue Road for the intended purposes.
Mr Mabenga said according to the current status of the land, the company had not used it for the intended purposes.
Mr Mabenga said this when he responded to a question by Chipili MP Davies Mwila (PF) who wanted to know the total hectarage of land given to Legacy Holdings Company on Kafue Road and whether the land had been used for the intended purposes.
Further, Mr Mwila wanted to know whether the land has been audited.
In his response, Mr Mabenga said the land did not require an audit as its actual size, location and ownership was already known.
He however said that the ministry had carried out an inspection on the land to ensure there was compliance with the lease agreement.
He said the total hectarage of land was 189.516 hectares.
Finance and National Planning Deputy Minister Chileshe Kapwepwe told the House that the perception that Constituency Development Fund (CDF) was released late was as a result of the fact that the Budget had previously been debated and approved in the second quarter of financial year.
With the change in Budget cycle, there was likelihood that the CDF would be released on time for the members to carry out development projects in the stipulated time.
Ms Kapwepwe said this when she responded to a question by Luampa MP Josephine Limata (UPND) who wanted to know why CDF was not released on time.
And when contributing to the debate on the 2010 national Budget, Health Minister Kapembwa Simbao said the withdrawal of support by some donors to the health sector would not in anyway affect the delivery system in the sector.
Mr Simbao said most of the funds from cooperating partners were for seminars, workshops and capacity building and as such, the sector would not suffer even in the face of reduced funding.
