Kinshasa — Former Tutsi rebels integrated into the Congolese army have warned of a possible return to conflict.
The warning, made public on Friday, comes nearly a year after a peace agreement was first signed.
The National Congress for the People's Defence termed the humanitarian situation in eastern Congo "catastrophic", adding that "hopes of peace were more distant than ever".

Army dissident General Laurent Nkunda
They warned DRC President Joseph Kabila and Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame over the "indisciplined" Congolese troops, adding that they risked faltering the peace agreement.
The proclamation, dated October 15, comes days after a document written by their former leader, Gen Laurent Nkunda, before he was arrested, was published.
Gen Nkunda, whose forces threatened the Congolese political establishment last year with a series of resounding victories in the east of the country, was arrested in January by Rwandan troops.

Nkunda is kept not because they do not want to show and deal with him base on all the bad things he had done; simple because, they want more evidence such as who are/ were supporting him to did such a great deverstation to the Africans in that region. If they kill him now, those who are/were supporting him will never be found; therefore, the great lakes region need to play a cat and mouse game with him and found out more about those cobras who are still hiding behind the curtains. I am saying this because there's a proverb which says, " you have to squeeze the juices from the orange fruit(s) before destroying it / them ". Meaning DRC and Rwanda need to get tangeable evidences from Nkunda, and then round up all those devilish individuals and deligently deal with them with heavy blows. Why should our people suffer and being destroy for the sake of greediness and selfishness???? Why?? Those Africans at the Great Lakes Region lives are important just like any other human beings !!! Africa, please wake and stop supporting and arbiting jealousy, pretenders, hatres, hyprocrites, ect minds in destroying our people and the continent. Development and Unity is the MOST. God Bless Africa.
Since Nkunda was arrested he is never been extradited to DRCongo. He is kept in Rwanda while being fed and highly protected by president Paul Kagame. It is clear that the "Nkunda Bantware's war" was not for DRCongo interests. Saying they are returning to war is only Kabila-Kagame plot to delay presidential election as they are not prepared to organize one. Mr Joseph Kabila is really really unpopular and knows that in a democratic election he is obviously a big looser that is why he is trying to find a way to avoid or delay all election process. "War" in DRCongo? that will be another humanitarian disaster, can they think about it? The coalition Kabila-Kagame has already perpetrated "genocide" in DRCongo with the death of around 10,000,000 people which will never allow them to partake in any democratic election for the presidential post. We are begging superpowers; USA, UK, France, Germany..., to stop them killing at will and acting like gods on earth while not being prevented to do so. Oh! Lord Jesus Christ, see what is happening and save your people. Amen!
