Zambia: MP Urges Ministry to Upgrade Clinic

NDOLA Central Member of Parliament (MP) Mark Mushili has urged the Ministry of Health to upgrade the Chipulukusu Clinic to enable the facility provide more services to the residents of Chipulukusu.

Mr Mushili was speaking yesterday when he addressed Chipulukusu residents at Chibolele Basic School at a meeting aimed at addressing the social contract between the political leaders and the Pastors Fellowship of Chipulukusu on behalf of the people, which was signed in 2006.

He called on the Ministry of Health to upgrade the clinic from its current stage because it had the capacity to expand and provide necessary services to the people and ease their difficulties because they travelled long distances to obtain certain services.

"I am urging the Ministry of Health to upgrade the clinic so that it provides more services. There is no need for people to be going to the Railway Clinic or Chifubu Township when we have a clinic here," Mr Mushili said.

The social contract indicated that the area MP and the Chipulukusu ward councillor had three years in which to ensure the area clinic was upgraded to provide Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART) and Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT)
