Gambia: IPA Executive Meet Nigerian High Commissioner

Banjul — The executive members of the Imo People Association (IPA), yesterday, paid a courtesy call on the Nigerian High Commissioner, Her Excellency Madam Esther John Audu, at her office in Bakau.

Speaking to the Daily Observer shortly after meeting the High Commissioner, Chief UK Emezi Mbaise, chairman of the IPA, said the purpose of their courtesy call was to introduce their association to the Nigerian High Commissioner, as well as to adopt her as their association?s patroness. He said the aim of their association is to promote unity and understanding among the Imo People in The Gambia, work together, among others.

For her part, Her Excellency, Madam Esther John Audu, said she appreciated the courtesy call and thanked the IPA for setting up the association. She further thanked the members of the IPA for their contribution towards the Nigerian community in The Gambia. She advised the members of the IPA to unite and work together for the interest of their association. High Commissioner Esther John Audu also promised to be patronizing some of the IPA?s upcoming activities.
