Nigeria: Katsina to Build Orthopaedic Hospital

Katsina — KATSINA State government has concluded plans for the setting up of an orthopaedic hospital in the state.

The hospital which will consist of 250 beds will cost the government about N1.6 billion. The construction of the hospital is one of the decisions of the state executive council held in Katsina last Monday.

According to the State Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Jamo Daura, the government would also build hostels costing about N1.3 billion. The construction of the project would be in eighteen months while doctors quarters costing N252 million would also be built to accommodate those to work in the hospital.

The project would be sited along Dutsin-ma road where the state university had been sited.

In another development, State Commissioner for Works, Arch. Musa Sada, has announced the construction of more roads in Funtua and Mani local government councils of the state.

He told newsmen that the road project in Funtua which is about seven to eight kilometers would cost the government about N1.2 billion while the Mani township road which is about 2.4 km would cost the government about N968 million.

The road project is to be completed in twelve month. All the contracts were awarded to indigenous contractors in the state.
