Angola: Governor Warns of Criminal Actions During CAN/2010

26 October 2009

Luanda — Luanda governor, Francisca do Espirito Santo, Monday warned the possibility of organised criminal gangs to carry out their actions during the African Cup of Nations (CAN2010), the country will host from 10 to 30 January.

The official made the warning at the opening of national conference on human trafficking, under the joint initiative of the Home Affairs Ministry and International Organisation for Migration (IOM), running till Friday, in Luanda.

To Francisca do Espirito Santo, CAN 2010 is a moment that may attract criminal gangs, including those engaged in the human trafficking.

To this purpose, she urged for integrated actions focussed on measures to discourage this situation.
