Lorita Chigbo — Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, Minister of health, Mr. Babatunde Oshotimehin, and all Physiotherapists, health professionals among others are to feature in this year's 49th Annual Scientific Conference, General meeting and 50 th anniversary of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) to be held in Lagos.
The theme of the event which is tagged "changing the culture, making a difference" and sub theme "best practice in physiotherapy with emphasis on primary care in Nigeria" is scheduled to hold today Thursday 29th October 2009 through 31st at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu lagos and Sheraton hotel Ikeja respectively.
National President of the society, Rev. Adeoluwa Jaiyesimi who made this remark this Monday in Yaba, Lagos, during a press briefing to disclose its plan to host the event also said the physiotherapy has been ignored as a vital primary health care provider.
According to him, this is an opportunity to cry out to the government on the importance of physiotherapy in primary health care.
