One of the candidates for the 2009, Montserrado County Senatorial by- election Madam Grace Tee Kpaan, has called on the Honorable House of Legislature to accept the final reports of the Truth and Re-conciliation Commission (TRC), because, according to her, it will end the culture of impunity in the country.

Madam Kpaan made the call on Friday October 26, 2009 during a senatorial debate organized by the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), which was held at the main office of the LBS in Paynesville, outskate of Monrovia.

It can be recalled that since the final reports of the TRC were drafted and subsequently submitted to the Legislature for its ratification, there has been public out cried among the civil society grouping and some political pundits in the country over the delayed of the Honorable body to reach a consensus.

With some critics blaming the delay on the part of the Honorable body, because as they claim, is the results of the implication of the President in the TRC final reports which they say represent justice for those innocent masses who were assaulted and de-humanized.

According to the Montserrado county Senatorial aspirant, the TRC report is a clear representation of the people who have suffered from the consequences of the Country's brutal civil war. "Let us respect every letters and spelling of the reports because it gives life to the people." Madam Kpaan warned. She, however, challenged the Legislature to ensure that they should exhibit a high level of sincerity in dealing with the TRC reports.

Reacting to statement that some people have made that if the TRC report is endorse by the Legislature. It would derail the peace the people are enjoying in the country and it will also create chaos and instability in the country. Contrary, to these views, the Honorable aspirant argued, that approving of the reports will, as she says; create no level of instability in the country neither chaos.

"Do we want to allow impunity to continue in this country? Adding, it is time for us to help to end these practices in our Country." Madam Kpaan advised.
