Tunis — A Special Day was organised on Friday, in Kairouan Governorate, as part of the presidential electoral campaign. A large number of local inhabitants renewed, on the occasion, their attachment to the person of President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali and their pride at the contents of his new electoral platform for the next five years.
A dialogue forum was held as part of this day presided over by Constitutional Democratic Rally (RCD) Central Committee member and National Defence Minister Kamel Morjane, on President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali's electoral programme, "Together, We Meet Challenges."
The minister hailed, on the occasion, the enthusiastic atmosphere characterising the presidential and legislative campaign, asserting that the region's inhabitants will be ready next October 25 to renew the pledge of loyalty with President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali and vote for the RCD lists.
Mr. Morjane asserted that the overflowing enthusiasm expressed by RCD activists and components of civil society, and unanimity around the Head of State, should no means be spoiled by some detractors, puppets of foreign influences, who could not stomach seeing Tunisia achieve such a success and enjoy so much esteem and consideration at regional and international scales.
He specified that these detractors's last resort are lies and false allegations to cast doubt on the country's great accomplishments, in order to conceal their failure and their being short of a political platform which meets the citizens' aspirations and expectations.
He expressed satisfaction, in this regard, at the Tunisian people's high degree of maturity and awareness, pride at the climate of security and social peace prevailing in the country and attachment to safeguard these achievements which these pseudo-opposition parties are trying to discredit.
He said that the presidential electoral platform (2009/2014) is to help Tunisia achieve a qualitative leap on the path of progress and prosperity, asserting that President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali is the most capable person to take up the challenges of the coming stage and that he is able, when efforts of people and the whole nation's driving forces join hands, to materialise the ambitious objectives of his electoral programme.
Participants in this forum expressed pride at the wealthy achievements accomplished by Tunisia, reasserting their cohesion around President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali and their adherence to his wise policies and their entire commitment to contribute to the success of the presidential and legislative elections, to renew the pledge with the Head of State and to vote for the RCD lists.
