Kigali — WITH only thirteen days left before the Fifa World Cup trophy comes to Rwanda, Times Sport is going to be giving you close details of the trophy's journey across the continent.

The 6.5kg trophy leaves Equatorial Guinea this afternoon to Sao Tome and Principle aboard a chartered flight; as part of its 225-day international tour to all FIFA member states.

The trophy arrives in Rwanda on the night of November 9 and will tour Kigali the following day.

With the World Cup finals being held on African soil for the first time, an African team has been tipped to win the trophy.

Ghana and Ivory Coast are hot favourites having already grabbed their tickets to South Africa.

Usual suspects Cameroon, Nigeria, Egypt and Algeria are a win away from securing their tickets to South Africa.

The aim of the tour is to strengthen unity on the continent.
