Uganda: Mugabe to Face Grassi in Senegal Today

Uganda's top tennis player Duncan Mugabe will face the toughest duel of his budding career when he takes on seed two Claudio Grassi of Italy in the second round of the Senegal F1 Futures Tennis Circuit today.

Mugabe defeated Belgium's Gavin de Lovinfosse 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in a game played on the hard courts of Dakar club in the first round to book a date with 374 ranked Grassi.

Mugabe, ranked 669, however says that he is fit and raring to go after recuperating well from the groin injury he suffered in the final of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Kenya leg circuit on October 3 at Nairobi club.

"I skipped the Nigeria Futures because of the groin injury that has kept me out of action for some time. But I'm slowly getting back to full fitness and I should be able to play better in the coming games," Mugabe said.
