Kampala — At the album launch were artistes like Nameless whose collaboration with Blu3 did not disappoint
THEIR songs might be doing well on the airwaves, but Blu3 failed to fulfill much of their promise during their Be Free album launch at KCC Grounds on Friday. Guest stars disc spinner DJ Benny D and Kenyan heartthrob Nameless, put up good performances.
Other performances were from GNL Zamba, Navio, Joanita Kawalya and Jamal. The show seemed to be on course until Blu3 strode onto the stage. Opening with Fly, which is so far the biggest hit after peaking at number four on MTV Base. The girls' voices were not so reassuring and were disfavoured by the poor sound, even though Silk Events' huge stage, lighting and projector screens were top-notch.
The audience remained in a somber mood as the girls struggled through most of their new songs, including Together, Bad Girl, Nzijukira, and Prisoner among others.
Towards the end, the mood changed from somber to cheery with the appearance of Moze Radio and Weasel, who excited the crowd with songs like Ability, Bread and Butter and Potential.
In fact, it was Where You Are, the duo's alliance with Blu3 that ensured the show ended on a high.
