Maputo — The head of the observation mission of the Parliamentary Forum of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) for the polls in Mozambique, David Matongo, said everything is in place for general elections in that country to take place Wednesday.
The MP said so after a meeting with journalists on the premises of the Angolan embassy in Maputo between the forum, the SADC ambassadors and the high commissioners.
The official called for the support to the press for the success of the elections that will elect the President of the Republic, Assembly of the Republic and the provincial assemblies.
He said that the information obtained from the meeting with the dean of SADC diplomats, the Angolan ambassador, Garcia Bires, will be useful during the voting observation.
In his turn, the Angolan ambassador to Mozambique said that he believes that the elections will go in a peaceful environment and the results will be accepted by everyone involved in the process.
