Sumbe — Angolan minister of Family and Women Promotion Genoveva Lino Monday in coastal Kwanza Sul province, called on women to attend literacy classes, in order to learn about the reality of the country and world.
"You must participate in literacy classes and then continue studying because reading and writing enable to understand things. The world is dynamic and we need to follow it up", said the official who paid a 24-hour visit to Mussende locality.
According to her, the current development process of the country requires that all citizens study and train so as to reach the expected goals.
During her stay, Genoveva Lino laid the first foundation stone for construction of home to accommodate the elderly and veteran combatants and offered an ambulance to maternal-infantile centre, to support patients.
She also delivered 600 kits to traditional birth attendants, to assist the delivery in rural communities.
A visit to the local hospital, maternal-infantile centre and the opening of Capacity-building seminar to traditional midwives were also included in her visiting agenda.
