Harare — The proposed Public Finance Management Bill and the Audit Office should be strengthened to ensure those convicted of abusing funds face stiffer penalties, a joint sitting of the Parliamentary Public Accounts and the Budget, Finance Economic Planning and Investment Promotion heard on Monday.
In its presentation, the Zimbabwe Coalition on Debt and Development said Section 89 of the Public Finance Manage-ment Bill was too open and prone to abuse.
