Kayonga has been acting in the same position which he took over following the departure of Theogene Turatsinze.
Other appointments that were made included that of Dr Magnifique Ndambe Nzaramba as the head of Rwanda Horticulture Development Authority (RHODA), a position that has been held by Peter Muvara.

Ngirente was named as Economic Advisor to the minister while Rugwabiza will be the director of planning.
