Nigeria: Police to Quiz Chris Uba Over Pa Soludo

29 October 2009

Abuja — In the aftermath of the kidnap of the father of Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo by unknown gunmen, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State has invited Chief Chris Uba, a political chieftain, for questioning.

The invitation was a directive from the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ogbonna Onovo, who was earlier directed by President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua to fish out Pa Soludo's abductors.Pa Soludo, an octogenarian, was abducted from his country home in Isuofia on Tuesday by five gunmen. There are strong suspicions that the kidnap of the retiree octogenarian was politically motivated.LEADERSHIP gathered that President Yar'Adua was miffed by the development and he subsequently directed the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ogbonna Onovo to ensure that the abductors were tracked down and Pa Soludo rescued.

Mr C. Don Adinuba, media consultant to Prof. Soludo confirmed to LEADERSHIP that Chief Uba had been invited to appear before the Anambra State Police Commissioner today in connection with Pa Soludo's abduction.Uba, a member of PDP's Board of Trustees (BoT) was believed to have purchased the governorship nomination forms for no fewer than 21 aspirants during the party's primaries last month. Each of the forms cost N5million.When the party failed to conduct its primaries due to a court order that restrained it from doing so, and the inability of the no fewer than 47 aspirants to produce a consensus candidate, PDP's National Working Committee (NWC) selected Prof. Soludo as its candidate for the Anambra State governorship race. Some of the aspirants loyal to Uba had rejected the selection of Soludo, vowing to institute a legal action to stop him.Prof. Soludo had earlier last month, during a dinner organised in his honour by his friends and associates in Abuja, narrated how his father was earlier kidnapped while he was carrying out the banking reforms as the then Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and beaten to the state of unconsciousness. Soludo said that his father lost an eye in that incident.Soludo had also told the audience that that incident forced him to relocate his family to Europe, but swore that he would not be intimidated or deterred.

I bet you, nothing will come out of this because Thief Chris Uba and co are "big masquerades." Most of the police top hierarchy are in the pay role of the Ubas. Police investigation is a mere white wash. It is like what general Aguiyi Ironsi did when he was informed that Gowon and co were plotting a coup against him. He for reasons best known to him, decided to appoint the same Gowon to investigate and get back to him. The rest is now history. The Nigerian police has always worked hand in gloves with the Uba brothers and co. Was it not the same police that was used by the Ubas to kidnap Governor Chris Ngige? Was it not the same police that was used by the Ubas to loot, burn and destroy most of the public infrastructures in Anambra State in November 2004? When has the Nigeria Police suddenly become a born again? The police is also the brain behind the electoral malpractices in Nigeria, because there can never be a successful rigging of election results without the involvement of the police. When has it become a crime for their godfather, Thief Chris Uba to kidnap? Shame! It was alleged that the kidnapers of Pa Soludo said that the 500 million they were demanding was meant to offset their electioneering expenses. Why are our blind, highly corrupt and politicised police claiming that they don't know where to find Pa Soludo? For Christ sake, I know where where Pa Soludo and indeed other kidnapped persons in ANS are. They are in the custody of the Uba brothers and co. What has just happened has shown us that neither Thief Chris Uba and co nor the fraud called PDP can take us to the promised land. Ndi Anambra, be at alert. Kidnaping , armed robbery and other vises are syptomic of a nation in social decay. The nation of Nigeria has been under seige for too long by it's own citizens . The inability of law enforcement to effectively deal with this developement is because they're also culpable and complicit .

Senators, members of upper and lower houses get paid off the natural income level , yet they're behind each and every contract where value is inflated to 4 times the real cost. Imagine the agony of linning up at Abuja , just to get close to a bum senator or house member to get contract with burden of kick back as if they're unknown to law enforcement .

What is happening in Nigeria is simply some kind of internal natural dynamics that follows a dysfunctional society. It seem that the Land and historical daities are angry at the level of plunder by citizens priviledged to rule . Villages are crumbling , the gap between poor and rich in the country has widden to historical proportion.

No country on the planet have more PHDs in the political and leadership arsnel than NIgeria, yet the nation falls under the most mismanaged political entity on earth. This couse will grow larger, the Land is working to create eqillibrum somehow . Mr Soludos father is an unfortunate victim in caught in the crossfire . No body is safe untill the nation become safe . Remember Mbakwe's cry for the nation before his death, he called for the reistatement of British rule when he saw that no Nigerian , not one was working to save the nation from destruction by foreign and local extracting countries.
