The Superintendent of Grand Bassa County, Madam Julia Duncan Cassell, has disclosed to her that the Management of the Liberia Agriculture Company LAC has promised that the Company is expected to shortly resume operation in the county within the period of three months. This, she said, is going to make the County the economic bread basket of Liberia.
"Look! Some of our Counties have been the bread basket for this country, but with these inexpressible opportunities, Grand Bassa County is going to be the only economic bread winner for the Country." Superintendent Cassell promised Liberians.
Addressing her people recently in the County, Madam Cassell said, other companies including the Buchanan Renewable Energy (BRE) that has been operating in the county also assured her that they are going to help to make Grand Bassa the breadbasket of Liberia. The Superintendent further assured her people that there are going to be more job opportunities in the County because, she added, the resumption of Logging activities in the country will give a boost to this process.
She also believes that logging activities is going to make the Buchanan port efficient, which according to Madam Cassell, will assist to employed additional people in the County. "Our people lives are going to be transformed." She noted. She also said that the County is going to be the gate way to employment opportunity in the Country.
However, as a way of buttressing the County pending job prospect, the hardworking Superintended revealed that the United Nation Development Project (UNDP) has earmarked developmental funds for some Counties in the Country, which include Montsesrrado, Grand Cape mount and Grand Bassa respectively. "I'm hoping that Grand Bassa County could be the first to benefit from the development funds, which will help us to foster our job creation agenda." She lamented.
However, in furthering of the County's developmental initiative, madam Cassell also guaranteed the people of Liberia that with the re-furbishing of hotels, guest houses and other entertainment facilities in the County, they are prepared to host international conferences, workshops and important meetings.
