Kampala — CELEBRATED musician Bobi Wine will lead his 16-team fire base crew in the 10km race of the MTN Kampala marathon on November 22.

The marathon will be preceded by the subsidiary wheelchair event on November 15.

Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, who refers to himself as president of the Ghetto and Uganja republic, is one of the top musicians entered in the marathon and its subsidiary events.

His team will also have his vice president Butchaman, Mark Bugembe.

Hip hop musician and Lugaflow ace GNL Zamba has also entered the annual competition.

People and groups from all walks of life are getting set for the show.

The national soccer team The Cranes, due to defend the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup starting in Nairobi late next month, will also participate in the marathon.

"This indicates that Ugandans from all walks of life appreciate the marathon and the noble cause it supports," MTN brand and sponsorship's manager Aggrey Kagonyera said.

Kagonyera said the race has attracted 19,058 participants, a figure above the anticipated 15,000.
