Kampala — EIGHT years ago, DJ Michael started playing music at Lido Beach in Entebbe. The beginnings were humble. For the first four months, Michael says he would sometimes play for only four people.
Every Sunday, when young people flocked the beach, Michael would free style on beats between playing music. Soon, he was considering singing for a career. His first song, Lido Lido, made a landmark for him.
And he has never looked back. This was followed by singles like Wandekela Omwana and Bell Lager. Last year, DJ Michael dropped Muko Muko, his biggest hit to date. This was followed by a catchy tune, Kwata Kwata that many party and dance to.
He launches the nine-track album tonight at Theatre La Bonita, Kampala. VIP seats go for sh30,000, while the rest will pay sh10,000. On Saturday, he will be at Jobiah Hotel in Mukono for sh5,000 and at Lido Beach, Entebbe on Sunday, for sh5,000.
