Gambia:ITT Observed Career Guidance Day

The institute of Travel and Tourism, (ITT) last Saturday, held its second career guidance day anniversary at the institutions hall in Pipeline.

The aim of this career guidance day is to expose and as well assist students to make reasonable choices in the area of their studies. This day also captivate people who wish to read travel and tourism as their professional career. The day also highlighted numerous advantages after rendering a successful course in Travel and Tourism.

The Principal of the School, Sheikh Titan Nyang, in his welcome remarks, emphasised the significance of career guidance moment. He told studentsÂ' to build up maximum interest, noting that the best choice can emanate from such a moment. "We write to representatives from the tourism sector so as to broaden your capacity as students," he concluded. For his part, Laming Bojang, a senior lecture at the institution, described his institution as the only one in the country that deals purposely with travel and tourism. He stated that the institutions has been very succeful since its inception. He outlined that the courses they are rendering at the school are standard and are monitored by experts from England.

During the days, representative from different companies such as civil Aviation Authority, Gambia International Airline, Gambia Tourism Authority, the Gambia Hotel School and SN Brussels Airline among others, all highlighted the role and advantages of their institution.

They all acknowledge the contribution rendered by ITT in the development of Tourism since its inception. The occasion ended with question and answer session.
