Harare — The memorial service for Vice President Joseph Msika that was scheduled to take place today has been deferred, his family has announced.
The memorial service will now be held on November 7, 2009.
"Mrs Maria Msika and family regret to advise all invited dignitaries, friends and relatives that due to unforeseen circumstances, the memorial service for the late Vice President, Dr JW Msika, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday 31, October 2009, at the Mandara State Residence has been postponed to Saturday November 7 2009 at 1100hours," read a statement issued yesterday.
Cde Msika died in August at West End Clinic and was declared a national hero.
He was interred at the National Heroes' Acre where the country's most illustrious sons and daughters are buried.
