Nigeria:Access Homes Funds Yaba Housing Project

Access Homes, a subsidiary of Access Bank Plc, is funding a new housing project that will comprise 88 housing units in the Yaba area of Lagos mainland.

The project, christened Alcove Homes, which has has taken-off with preliminary works involving site clearing and sand-filling is being jointly developed by GlobalMix Capital Limited in partnership with Olumide Eso and Associates, an architecture firm along with others.

The estate on completion will comprise eight blocks housing 64 units of three-bedroom apartments, each with one room boys' quarters, eight blocks housing eight units of three-bedroom penthouses, each with one room boys' quarters and four blocks housing 16 units of four-bedroom townhouses with one room boys' quarters, to occupy. All the units come with balconies and ample living spaces.

Managing Director of GlobalMix, Mr. Koya Olumide, harped on the uniqueness of the project, alluding to its "location within Lagos metropolis, offering close proximity and easy access to most places on the island and the mainland."

He added that the features of the estate include: ample parking space for residents and visitors, recreational facilities - clubhouse, swimming pool, fitted gymnasium and large children's playground.

Additional features include security, electricity generators, paved walkways and children's playground, along with heavy-duty stone paved roads, well-designed and efficient drainage, and integrated potable water supply.

Koya noted that the consortium was in the process of perfecting land documentation with the state government and hoped this would be concluded in the next few months.a
