Nigeria:FHA to Build 932 Houses in Abuja

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has said it will build 932 new housing units in Abuja under a partnership agreement with ENL Consortium Limited.

The project, to be sited at the Apo district of the Federal Capital Territory, is to be completed within three years.

FHA's Head, Corporate Communications, Mr. Tunde Ipinmisho, who announced this in a press statement said the developer would build various house types and associated infrastructure on 60 hectares of land to be provided by the Authority as its equity contribution to the partnership..

Under the agreement, ENL will provide funds for the development and completion of the project while the FHA would approve all designs, technical drawings, layout plans and any modification to be carried out.

Managing Director of the FHA, Arc. Terver Gemade signed the agreement on behalf of the Authority while the Chairman/Chief Executive of ENL Consortium Limited, Prince Adesuyi Haarstrup signed on behalf of his company.

In his remarks, the FHA Chief Executive said the proposed project also marked a major step in the efforts to meet the target of 100,000 new houses by the Year 2013 set by the new Management of the Authority when it assumed office in May this year.

Responding, the Chairman/Chief Executive of ENL Consortium Ltd, Prince Adesuyi Haarstrup promised that his company would deliver the houses on schedule.
