Nigeria: 'No Rift Between Atiku, Tinubu, Akande'

Abuja — The Action Congress (AC) has shed light on the reason behind last week's meeting of its national leadership, saying the talks did not focus on any reconciliation move among its members as reported by the media.

Media reports suggested that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, AC National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande and former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu among others were reconciled during the Abuja meeting.

A statement by AC Media Officer, Olanrewaju Thomas, said the meeting which was attended by Atiku Abubakar and Senator Tinubu was a routine consultation.

The statement reads: "The leadership meeting that took place is a routine consultation called by the National Chairman from time to time.

"In this last meeting referred to in your story, indeed Turaki Atiku Abubakar and Asiwaju Tinubu and a number of our leaders were pleasantly present, but never was any issue raised or discussed relating to reconciliation or someone's relation with PDP."
