Cameroon: CERAC's Largesse Extends To Kupe Muanenguba Hospitals

The Bangem, Nguti and Tombel hospitals in Kupe Muanenguba Division, have received a consignment of gifts offered by the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC).

The people of Kupe Muanenguba Division and Bangem in particular, were in a festive mood on Saturday for a memorable event hard to forget. Reason: a delegation of CERAC members were in Bangem to offer a consignment of medical equipment and material to the renovated Bangem hospital, and to the Nguti and Tombel hospitals in Kupe Muanenguba Division.

Equally handed over were agricultural equipment and foodstuff destined for rural women and youths regrouped under associations to support their efforts in the fight against poverty and malnutrition. In her keynote address, Mrs. Gladys Inoni, the Personal Representative of Mrs. Chantal Biya (Founding President of CERAC) hailed the First Lady's commitment to the underprivileged and the needy. "As a result, Mrs. Chantal Biya could not stay indifferent to the difficulties in getting medication and adequate health care encountered by the populations of Bangem" and the entire Kupe Muanenguba Division, Mrs Inoni said. She lauded the First Lady's gesture which reaffirms her spirit of humanism and compassion to the quest for good living conditions for all Cameroonians. Mrs. Inoni exhorted the Directors, medical and administrative staff to make good use of the infrastructure and equipment offered.

On behalf of the entire health staff of the Division, the Director of the Bangem District Hospital Doctor Ngang Paul Enongene praised the First Lady's initiative which will enhance the capacity of the health institutions to better serve patients. While promising to safeguard the equipment and make a proper inventory, Doctor Enongene unvieled the evolution of the Bangem Health District which was created in 2001 and covers 63 villages.

Other speakers like Doctor Chuwanga John (South West Regional Delegate of Public Health), the Mayor of the Bangem Council Mr Ekuh Ojeh Simon and a representative of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her commitment to humanity and her determination to deliver quality health care to the masses. Mrs. Chantal Biya was christened "The Lady with the Golden Heart", always ready to comfort the afflicted and those in hardship.
