Angola/Algeria Reconfirm Supremacy

They were in the final in both the women and men's categories.

Before the start of the 31st edition of the African handball clubs championship in Yaounde, it was already known that the Angolan and Algerian clubs were among the best on the continent. The biggest news of the event would have been to challenge the hegemony of these clubs but the results of the competition turned out to confirm the logic by which clubs from these two countries were the best on the continent.

Angola alone had three clubs from among the four they fielded in the competition, on the final podium. In fact, the final in the women's category was an all Angolan affair as it pitted two Angolan clubs, Petro Athletico and Primeiro, against one another. The Angolan therefore occupied the first two positions in the female category with Petro Athletico at the helm, followed by Primeiro in the second position and Inter Club of Congo in the third position.

The Angolans were also present on the final podium in the men category with Primeiro of Angola occupying the third position. The worst performance recorded by an Angolan club was done by Kabusport as they occupied the 5th position on the final general classification
